Ichiro Ash Gold thinning scissors combine 440C stainless steel, a convex edge, V-groove standard thinning teeth and an offset handle in one 6.0" build. Salon stylists seeking this V-groove pattern can choose it as one fixed-size thinner.
Built at 6.0", the Ichiro Ash Gold thinner combines 440C stainless steel at 58–60 HRC with a convex edge and offset handle.
Its V-groove teeth form a standard thinning pattern in matte black and rose gold. A toothed blade cuts the seated strands while leaving the others, allowing weight to be worked from inside a section without moving its outline.
Included with the thinner are a reusable premium cushioned scissor box, care guide, tension key and maintenance cloth. The bonus kit brings a cleaning brush, Japanese tsubaki shear oil and silicone finger inserts.

How to use
Sharpening & Care
Built around your grip
The handle decides how your wrist, elbow and shoulder feel at 6pm.
Classic (opposing)Rings in line — the traditional grip; elbow rides high. Suits barbers trained on it.
This pair
OffsetThumb ring forward, elbow drops — the modern professional default for all-day comfort.
This pair
CraneDeep drop and low elbow position — for professionals who prefer a lower working posture.
This pair
Swivel thumbRotating thumb ring allows more thumb movement across different working positions.

How this pair cuts
Edge geometry decides technique — and maintenance.
Convex 蛤刃 hamaguri-ba
Razor edge for slide and wet cutting, designed for a quiet, low-resistance cut.
This pair
Semi-convex
Sharp yet forgiving — the versatile all-rounder, easier to maintain than full convex.
This pair
Bevelled 段刃 dan-ba
Durable workhorse edge with audible feedback — suits blunt cutting and training.
This pair
Sword blade 剣刃 ken-ba
Ridged spine adds power through thick, dry sections and scissor-over-comb work.
This pair
Convex edges need specialist sharpening: a standard grind can flatten the profile. Use a sharpener experienced with convex scissor blades.
