Can I collect instead of delivery?
We don't have UK collection points, but our express shipping is free for scissors and arrives quickly.
Do you ship to PO Boxes?
FedEx and DHL cannot deliver to PO Boxes. Please provide a street address.
Can I change my delivery address after ordering?
Only before dispatch. Once shipped, contact the carrier directly to arrange redirection (fees may apply).
What about customs delays?
We handle customs clearance, so delays are rare. If your parcel is held, we'll work with the carrier to resolve it.
Do you offer express/priority shipping?
Our standard shipping is already express international priority — the fastest option available.

Delivery Policy & Your Responsibilities
Please read this section carefully. It explains when delivery is complete, your responsibilities, and what happens if issues arise.
When Is Delivery Complete?
Your order is considered delivered when any of the following occurs:
- The carrier delivers to your address and obtains a signature
- The carrier leaves the parcel according to your delivery instructions (including "Leave in safe place", "Leave with neighbour", etc.)
- The carrier leaves the parcel according to delivery preferences you've set up with them (e.g., FedEx Delivery Manager)
- The parcel is available for collection at a carrier depot following attempted delivery
Once delivery is complete, responsibility for the parcel transfers to you.
Authority to Leave & Safe Place Deliveries
Many customers enable "Authority to Leave" or "Safe Place" options with carriers for convenience. If you have these preferences enabled:
- You authorise the carrier to leave parcels without a signature
- You accept responsibility for parcels once they are left at your address
- We are not liable for parcels that go missing after the carrier has completed delivery
🔒 Our Recommendations for Secure Delivery
- Disable "Authority to Leave" if you're ordering high-value items
- Provide specific delivery instructions for a concealed location
- Have parcels delivered to your workplace if you won't be home
- Ask a trusted neighbour to accept delivery on your behalf
- Track your parcel and try to be available on the delivery day
Theft After Delivery
If tracking confirms your parcel was delivered to your address (including GPS location data and/or photographic proof), but you claim it is missing:
- This is classified as theft from your property — not a delivery failure
- We will cooperate with any carrier investigation
- You should file a police report for the stolen property
- You may be able to claim through your home or contents insurance
- We are not obligated to provide a refund or replacement for parcels confirmed as delivered
Our carriers provide comprehensive proof of delivery including tracking status, GPS coordinates, timestamps, and photographic evidence. This documentation confirms fulfilment of our delivery obligation.
Disputing a Delivery
If you believe your parcel was not delivered despite tracking showing delivery:
- Check with household members, neighbours, and any safe places
- Review the carrier's proof of delivery photo (available via tracking)
- Contact us within 48 hours at support@japanscissors.co.uk
- We will open an investigation with the carrier
- You may be required to provide a police report or statutory declaration
If the carrier's GPS data and photographic evidence confirm delivery to the correct address, this constitutes proof that we fulfilled our delivery obligations.
Genuinely Lost or Damaged Parcels
Lost in Transit: If your parcel never shows as delivered (tracking stuck or no updates), contact us. We'll investigate and arrange a replacement or refund if the parcel is confirmed lost.
Damaged on Arrival: If your parcel arrives damaged, take photos immediately and contact us within 48 hours. We'll arrange a replacement.
Delivered to Wrong Address: If carrier GPS shows delivery to an incorrect address (not the one you provided), we'll work with the carrier to resolve this and arrange a replacement if needed.
Shipping Protection
We offer optional shipping protection through Route at checkout. This provides additional coverage for:
- Lost packages
- Stolen packages (including porch theft)
- Damaged packages
If you purchase Route protection and experience an issue, file a claim directly with Route. If you decline shipping protection, the standard delivery policies above apply.
Signature Confirmation
For high-value orders, we may require signature confirmation. This means:
- The carrier will only release the parcel with a signature
- If you're not available, a collection card will be left
- You must collect within the carrier's timeframe or arrange redelivery
Signature confirmation provides the highest level of delivery security and proof.
Your Address Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Providing a complete and accurate delivery address
- Ensuring someone is available to receive the parcel, or providing appropriate delivery instructions
- Securing your delivery location
- Collecting parcels from carrier depots within required timeframes
We cannot redirect parcels after dispatch. If a parcel is returned due to an incorrect address or failure to collect, you may be charged return shipping costs.
